The Martinsville Speedway provides opportunities for HCPS

Clay Campbell presented  Anastacia Adams with a trophy for representing Rich Acres as
the Honorary Starter. Mrs. Minter, principal at Rich Acres Elementary School, and Anastacia took part in the opening ceremonies on the track.

Laurel Park Middle School partners with the Boys & Girls Clubs

Laurel Park Middle School was awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant in the amount of $200,000 per year for three years. This funding provides an after school program to Laurel Park Middle School students in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Blue Ridge.

HCPS communicates with government officials

Henry County Public Schools received approximately $240,000 through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. These funds were used to purchase cafeteria equipment at Collinsville Primary, Mt. Olivet Elementary, Carver Elementary, Campbell Court Elementary, Rich Acres Elementary, Axton Elementary, Irisburg Elementary, Stanleytown Elementary, and Sanville Elementary schools.
