"Serving as the school board representative at large offers a unique opportunity to focus on the broad picture of the educational opportunities provided by the Henry County Public Schools. Although all board members are deeply concerned with the entire system operation, they are often called upon to address issues brought to their attention by citizens in their respective districts. In my position, I am accountable to all citizens served by our schools and therefore must weigh each decision based on what is most beneficial to the well being of all of our students and employees. I have taken the opportunity to spend time in the classrooms of each of our schools in Henry County and am so proud of the accomplishments I have observed from our students and staffs. It is truly an honor to serve with the other members of the Henry County School Board as we pursue the goal of creating and maintaining a model school system." |

"Since my first child started kindergarten I have always helped the schools. This support continued at Drewry Mason Middle School and the Magna Vista High School Booster Club. Once my children graduated, I was still passionate about helping the schools so I decided to serve as a school board member. Now it's a part of my life. I enjoy learning, interacting with other school boards, and being around the children and watching them succeed." |

There is nothing that I could do to influence the future of Henry County more than to be part of this board. We are educating children that will be the adults tasked with solving the political, medical, and environmental problems of our world. I am both honored and humbled by the possibilities." |

"It was an honor to teach full time in Henry County Schools for 35 years and enable students to become life-long learners. During that period, I also had the opportunity to serve 16 years on the Henry County Board of Supervisors which gave me insight into the complexities of the school budget. I will always be open to new ideas and constructive criticism and use them in making school board decisions. I pledge to work together to make Henry County Schools the best in preparing our children for their future." Francis E. Zehr |
