Meet the Teacher!
Welcome to Mrs. Foley's English class! I am so elated that your child has been placed in my class. This is the start of an awfully big adventure and we have so much fun in store for us in the 2021-2022 school year. I cannot wait to get to know you and your student. Together we are going to begin the middle school academic journey in such an exciting way. I encourage communication and I hope that you can be as connected as possible in the classroom. We will be using Canvas and Class Dojo! Please know that my number one goal is for the children is to feel at home in my classroom and to create a safe learning environment in which they are confident and learning is fun. Due to the current pandemic, we are going to take advantage of all things technology and we are going to get creative! I hope that you all feel just as home as I already do in my sixth year at Laurel Park. I am originally from Fredericksburg, Virginia where I taught my first year in Spotsylvania County Public Schools. I am a Radford University Alum, where I did my student teaching in Radford City Public Schools. I am the oldest of three. I have a younger sister who is 24 and a younger brother who is 18 and a United States Marine. I am the only girl in my household of boys! My husband Landon, my English Bulldog Finnegan, and my sons Miles and Sutton are my world. I am a lover of candles, coffee, and succulents. I could go for ice cream or sushi just about any time of the day. I spend my free time doing photography. Teaching and coaching soccer are my passions. I feel extremely blessed to be at Laurel Park Middle School. Some of my best memories were in middle school and I can’t wait to experience those with the students. Thank you for all of your support this year!"There are two things we should give our children; one is roots, and the other is wings."
