Class Syllabus and Daily Schedule

  • Class Syllabus:

    My course is required for all 6th and 7th grade students and is offered as an elective for 8th grade students.  6th and 7th grade students participate in a Health and Physical Education component while the 8th grade course is made up of just Physical Education.  All lessons are aligned with the Henry County Health and Physical Education Curriculum.  Students are provided with the opportunity to learn a variety skills and games as well as health and fitness concepts.  Some topics covered are fitness testing, flag football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, badminton, as well as other activities that promote life-long fitness.  Health topics covered include prevention stratigies for alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs; nutrition, physical activity, personal hygiene, and mental / social health.  Emphasis is placed on safety, active participation, cooperation, sportsmanship, and positive social interaction during fitness and sport activities.
