Mrs. Kathy Scott
A little bit about myself is I always had the passion of being a teacher; however, right after high school I started at a community college and changed my profession to Management and Marketing. I receive an Associate’s Degree in Management, an Associate’s Degree in Marketing, and a Certificate in General Business. After working 15 years with the public, I landed a position at Franklin County High School as a Paraprofessional and this is where I found my passion again. I liked so much being in a classroom with students and helping them to grow that I said I was going back to college to get my teaching degree. I started at Liberty University doing all my classes online full-time and working full-time in 2011 and graduated in 2013 to receive my Bachelor’s Degree in Education minor Special Education. In 2016, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Special Education K-12. I worked 3 years for Bedford County Public Schools in the high school setting. I started working for Henry County Public Schools in 2017 with Elementary Special Ed students. I am the teacher for the Trainable Intellectually Disabled students at Meadow View Elementary.
I aspire to use my ability of interacting with students with special needs and experience of caring for them in creating a positive and encouraging environment for them to learn and grow. I want to be able to teach little kids that I could make a difference in their lives. When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family, going camping (RVing), and making arts/crafts.
