Bachelor's Degree from Ferrum College in Agricultural Sciences with Horticultural Emphasis

Mrs. Thompson (Boardwine)

Hi! I am Mrs. Thompson (Boardwine) and I will be your horticulture teacher this year. You may be thinking to yourself, why does she have two last names. That is because I got married to my bestfriend in November 2019. The name changing process has been long, but I am on the road to officially being a Thompson. If you hear me referred to Boardwine - never fear. I am the same person! This is my second year teaching at BHS. I am also a co-advisor for the Bassett Chapter of the National FFA Organization.

A native to Henry County, I graduated from Magna Vista High School. I was an extremely active member with the MVHS FFA Chapter and was co-president my senior year. I attended many competitions throughout my time there traveling and winning state, regional, and national titles. This program started my love for agricutlure and is the reason I continued my agricultural education by attending Ferrum College and recieving a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science with an empahsis in Horticutlure. Agriculture and horticulture have truly as such a positive influence on my life, and that all started in my introductory agriculture and horticulture classes in high school. I cannot wait to share my love with this program and FFA with you!

In my free time, I love spending time with my husband, two cats and one dog. Our hobbies include eating, watching tv, and eating some more. That is about all you can do while in quarantine!

I am excited to share my knowledge and real-world experiences with my students! I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve my community as a teacher and I can't wait to see how far my students excel this year!
