• Dear Student and Families,

The Program of Studies outlines the academic and elective course content offered to students in grades 6-8. It also outlines the sequence of courses and graduation requirements for the 2021-2022 school year. This has been developed to assist students in planning an appropriate course of study in middle school to enable you to make the most effective use of the opportunities available in our schools.

It is extremely important for you to use this as a guide to the variety of resources available to you in our schools. Teachers, counselors, assistant principals, and the principal are available to assist students and parents in making the most informed decisions about class schedules, course selections, college, and career choices.

Some of the questions you should consider when selecting courses include:

      1. What are your strengths?
      2. What are your goals after graduation?
      3. What courses do you think you should take to achieve these goals?
      4. What are your career interests?
      5. What are your long-term plans for your future?

The mission of the Henry County Public Schools is to provide our diverse community of learners with meaningful educational experiences that prepare them for a successful future.  As you develop your educational plan with the assistance of your family and school staff, make sure you take advantage of the comprehensive academic, career, technology, physical education, and fine arts course offerings.

Best wishes to you as you prepare for a successful 2021-2022 school year.

      Sincerely,

      Mrs. Sandy Strayer

      Superintendent
