    Reading Specialist Duties include but are not limited to...
    • Coordinate Assessments (PALS, Reading Inventories, Phonics Inventories, DSA, and Running Records )
    • Administering assessments
    • Analyze and share assessment data to guide instruction for Balanced Literacy Model K-5 
    • Provide and Attend Professional Development (County-wide and school-specific) 
    • Observe ELA blocks K-5 
    • Coach and/ or model the Implementation of a Balanced Literacy Block 
    • Monitor/Model Read 180/System 44/
    • Monitor Open Court K-2
    • Model HMH K-5 Instruction
    • Monitor the implementation of the Lucy Calkins Writing K-5
    • RYWTTR
    • PARC Writing Coordinator 
    • Redskin Read Ambassador for MOE 4th and 5th Grades  
    • Attend Weekly Grade Level Meetings when related to ELA (as needed) 
    • Conference with individual teachers as needed
    • Family Reading Nights
    • Provide feedback to teachers and the Literacy Team after observing instruction 
    • Monitor the use of Reading Paraprofessionals during classroom inclusion and during PALS pull-out
    • Conduct PD as necessary for teachers and paraprofessionals
