Citizenship is a big deal in my classroom.  It's important to me to teach children to become productive citizens who are respectful, honest and kind. We spend a great deal of time learning the correct way to behave at school (or anywhere).

It is important to me that every child feels safe at school and that their learning is not hinderd by mis-behavior from another student. I don't let mis-behavior slide.

Therefore, we use a color changing sytem in our classroom. When a student recieves color changes, they loose daily and weekly rewards whether it is a prize or play time. Once you have received 15 color changes, you loose your citizneship award for the nine weeks. At the end of the year, those students with good citizenship will receive an award.
