Ms. Mercedes Fleagle
Mercedes Fleagle is a working artist from Southwest Virginia. A graduate of Hollins University, Fleagle's work has been featured in spaces such as The Taubman Museum of Art and The Eleanor D. Wilson Museum. She has also been the featured artist for literary magzines including Cargoes Literary Magazine, The Album, and the University of South Carolina's Yamassee Journal.
Fleagle takes great pride in committing herself to a growing community of young artists. She has worked in partnership with many home-grown engagement programs, such as MHC's 4-H Program, MHC After Three, the YMCA, Piedmont Arts Association, and Henry County's once-Artisan Center to provide art education outside of the natural school environment. It is very important to Ms. Fleagle her students learn to research and cultivate ideas, execute strong original works, and blossom into well-rounded young contemporaries. As she pushes her creative mindset, Fleagle spends time working to publish a book of written word (Do No Harm) that will be available for purchase through Amazon and Barnes and Noble soon enough!
Most importantly, Mercedes Fleagle is the mother of a lunarious son and powerful force of a daughter. She will always prefer her children's laughter to anything else under the sun.
