Provisional License

A Provisional License is a nonrenewable Virginia teacher license that is valid for up to three (3) years and is only issued when the individual has allowable deficiencies for full licensure in Virginia. When you have a provisional license, you must complete all requirements for full licensure within the validity period.  This includes passing all licensure assessments.

Once you have satisfied your provisional license requirements, you will be eligible for a 10 year, renewable teacher license.
