What is Little Henry
What is Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)?
ECSE provides specially designed instruction for children from age two through five who have an identified disability or developmental delay that meets federal and state criteria for special education. ECSE is a service, not a daycare or preschool option designed to offer full-time child care.
Description of Little Henry Services
A certified teacher generally provides one-on-one instruction with the child for 30 – 45 minutes in the home or daycare setting one day per week. On Fridays, all students in Little Henry attend school for half a day at the Center for Community Learning (CCL). On Friday, children receive any related service for which they qualified such as: speech language services, occupational therapy, and/or physical therapy. Children participate in activities that are designed to improve communication, social, and adaptive skills.
