I am excited to work with you and your child this year! I know we are going to have an amazing year together. To tell you a little about myself, I graduated from Radford University with a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. This is my sixth year at Carver and I have loved every minute! I have a sweet dog named Abby who is spoiled rotten. I love coffee, shopping, and watching sports. I look forward to meeting you and your child and forming a relationship with both of you. :)Contact Information:email: firstname.lastname@example.orgCarver telephone: (276)957-2226

- Each week, a Homework Sheet is sent home on Mondays and is to be returned on Fridays. There are five activities on the sheet, one for each night. Please make sure you initial each night that your child is completing the activities. There are also weekly reminders on there for you as well!
- Please make sure you review the spelling words with your child each week. We have our spelling tests on Fridays. They will be sent home on the homework sheet.
- Dolch Sight Word Booklet- There will be a Giraffe Sight Word Booklet sent home. These are to be practiced over the week and I will test the kids on Friday morning. Start at List 1. When your child gets a sticker for List 1, move on to List 2. Keep going until your child gets stickers on every list. I am checking to make sure the students can say all of the words on the list quickly, and they do not have to sound them out. If they get words wrong, I will circle them so you can keep practicing with them! You only have to send this back on Fridays. :)
- Here is a link to all of the first grade SOLs we are going to learn this year!
