    My name is John Gibbs and I am a product of the Henry County Public School System. I grew up in Ridgeway and graduated from Drewry Mason High School. I am beginning my 41st year in education, and I am excited to be the Student Activities Coordinator at Magna Vista High School. Before returning to Henry County, I taught Health and P.E. in Fayetteville, NC for 17 years and as a Varsity Head Basketball Coach, I was fortunate enough to be part of 2 Basketball State Championships. Teaching was followed by 23 years in various administrative roles in secondary schools and as an Executive Director in Central Office. I have also coached football, baseball, and golf. Two of the most well-known celebrities I have coached or taught are basketball star, Robert Brickey from Duke University, and rap sensation, Jermaine Cole, better known as J. Cole.

    I enjoy playing golf, boating, listening to music, and watching college football and basketball. I am married to my college girlfriend (Kimberly) who is a career switcher and is presently retired from education. We have 4 daughters, 3 grandchildren and 2 dogs.
