1. Welcome to World History One, Twentieth Century History, and Psychology!

My name is Ellie Hampton. I graduated from Bassett High in 2013 and graduated from Virginia Tech with my Bachelor's of Arts in History in 2017. I graduated from Old Dominion University in 2019 with my Master's in Secondary Education with an intial teaching licensure. When I am not in class with my lovely students, I enjoy spending time with my family as well as my phenomenal jack russell terrier Teddy. Also, I love serving my students as a coach in both cross country and tennis. As many will observe when they enter my classroom, I am a sports enthusiast.

I am very excited to continue my teaching career at Magna Vista High School. I feel priviledged to serve as your child's educator, and I am truly grateful to have such a supportive group of colleagues at Magna Vista High School. I look forward to creating a great relationship with both you and your child.

      Expectations for All Classes:

Students are expected to follow all rules in accordance with HCPS as well as my classroom. In my classroom, we will create a community of respect for oneself, one's peers, as well as one's teacher. Students are expected to bring their required materials to class each day. Students are expected to arrive to class on time, turn in assignments promptly, and communicate immediately when they feel that they need extra help. Students are expected to be active participants within their own learning.  As I mention to all of my students on the first day of instruction, "No one cares about you the way you care about you."   In my classroom, I have a very strict no cell phones policy that students are expected to adhere to. I look forward to working with you and your child.

      Grading Policy for All Classes:

      Classwork & Homework: 45 %

      Tests: 30 %

      Quizzes: 20
