The Spanish Club is comprised of students who have studied or are studying Spanish at Bassett High School. The club’s intent is to create an awareness of Hispanic cultures. Each year the club’s activities vary, but some activities have included: cultural fun and games, the celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, making piñatas, learning Hispanic dances, listening to guest speakers from around the world, an annual Christmas party, and the celebration and promotion of Foreign Language Week.
Our service projects have included: sponsoring a child from El Salvador, buying Christmas gifts for two local children in need in the Henry County area, and raising funds for Heifer International. Heifer International is an international relief program that provides animals and livestock for those in poverty and teaches them how to provide for themselves.
