AI has the potential to significantly enhance the learning experience for both students and teachers. From personalized learning and automated administrative tasks to more inclusive education and data-driven decision-making, the benefits are vast. AI cannot and should not ever replace human judgement.

As stakeholders, we have a unique role in ensuring that AI is implemented responsibly and in a way that benefits all students, regardless of their background or abilities. By embracing AI thoughtfully, we can create an education system that is more adaptive, efficient, and inclusive—preparing students for a future where technology and human ingenuity work hand in hand.

The district's current framework around AI use evolved from Virginia's Guidelines. HCPS recognizes both the benefits and challenges of AI and is prioritizing training around responsible use of AI for teachers and students.
