Q:    If I am not a resident of Henry County, can my child attend preschool in Henry County?

A:    No.  Families must live in Henry County.

Q:    When will my child be screened?

A:    Preschool staff will notify parents of a date and location for their child’s screening.

Q:    What happens if my child is not selected for the program?

A:    Your child’s application will be placed on a waiting list. If an opening becomes available, parents will be contacted.

Q:    What curriculum is used in the preschool classroom?

A:    Preschool classrooms follow the High Scope curriculum which promotes independence, curiosity, decision-making, cooperation, creativity, and problem solving.  Children are able to choose interesting materials to freely explore while adults encourage and build upon their work by talking with them about what they are doing.  Adults help children learn to solve problems as they arise.

Q:    What will my child need for preschool?

A:    Parents will need to provide a towel or child-sized blanket and a regular-sized bookbag.  All other supplies and materials will be provided by the preschool program.
