Virginia's Consolidated State Plan under ESSA: Public Comment Submission

Public comments can be submitted through this online form until Sunday, May 18, 2025.

The Virginia Board of Education (Board) is reviewing a revision to the Consolidated State Plan under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Upon Board approval, Virginia's Consolidated State Plan (Amendment VIII) will be submitted to the United States Department of Education (USED) for approval. Given the minor change, USED has shared this approval process should only require a short time for approval. 

Continuing prior Board discussions, Amendment VIII of the Consolidated State Plan includes a revision to the Employment Section of the 3E Readiness indicator in high school. 

This online public comment form is to gather input on the revisions within Amendment VIII, through Sunday, May 18, 2025. The Board will be asked to review and take action at the May 22, 2025 meeting.
